Security First Hosts Third Annual Storm Response Showcase
Florida homeowners judge storm preparation by how well it performs before, during, and after a storm. That principle shaped Security First Insurance’s third annual Storm Response Showcase, held on February 26, 2026. Forty-six (46) vendors from our First Choice Repair Network® (FCRN) participated in a full day of hands-on education, live demonstrations, and collaboration to support Florida homeowners through every stage of recovery.
The featured burn house demonstration was led by the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) and Paul Davis Restoration, with an educational review by NEFCO Fire Investigations. The live exercise demonstrated how fires behave and why informed decision-making is critical once Emergency Responders have completed their work. It also showcased how the First Choice Repair Network® (FCRN) supports post-loss mitigation, repair, and restoration—offering Security First policyholders the choice to work with vetted vendors while helping them stabilize damage, begin recovery sooner, and move through the claims process with confidence after both storm and non-storm losses.
“Our vendor partners are the experts on the front lines of helping Florida homeowners get back on their feet,” said Magen Young, Manager of Security First Insurance’s First Choice Repair Network®. “The Storm Response Showcase gives us the opportunity to learn from their expertise, observe best-in-class response in action, and see firsthand how their expertise makes a real difference for homeowners, whether the damage comes from a storm or an everyday claim, with policyholders choosing whether or not to use the network for their repairs.”
The FCRN brings together local expertise, vetted vendors, and coordinated processes to ensure Security First policyholders receive fast, reliable support whenever damage occurs. Policyholders can choose to use the First Choice Repair Network® for any claim—storm-related or everyday—providing convenient access to trusted vendors and coordinated repair support. This network is central to Security First’s approach, helping homeowners recover quickly and confidently while maintaining flexibility and control over their repair process.
The First Choice Repair Network® also plays a critical role in Security First’s storm strategy, providing scalable, vetted resources throughout Florida to ensure faster response times, consistent workmanship, and clear communication. Policyholders may also leverage the network for everyday claims, receiving the same level of accountability and care for general repairs and restorations year-round.
“Serving Florida homeowners is about preparing for real-world events and understanding how they affect homes and families,” said Melissa Burt DeVriese, President of Security First Insurance. “It’s also about offering a wide variety of policy options to meet the unique needs of Floridians. The Storm Response Showcase demonstrates how our strong vendor partnerships and commitment to superior customer service help homeowners recover quickly and confidently, with the flexibility to choose how they manage repairs.”
Security First Insurance’s commitment to preparedness extends beyond the Storm Response Showcase. With a 4.4 Google rating and recognition as MarketWatch’s #1 pick for hurricane protection, the Company combines trusted vendor partnerships, a wide variety of products, and superior customer service to help Florida homeowners navigate both storm-related and everyday claims with confidence. By bringing together real-world expertise and hands-on experience, Security First Insurance continues to set the standard for responsive, reliable insurance solutions in Florida.
