January 9, 2019, Ormond Beach, Fla. – Ormond Beach-based Security First Insurance is helping to build a strong local economy by offering new career development programs and creating job opportunities across professions, including data and technology, business analysis, learning and development, and accounting. Many positions do not require insurance experience and include comprehensive training and paid licensing. Several positions opened this week due to the promotions of nearly 30 employees.
“We value our employees and our community. Ormond Beach is our home and it’s important to us that we not only offer professional development programs to employees, but also create programs that make it easy for people to start a new career and join our family,” said Melissa Burt DeVriese, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel at Security First.
As part of the company’s continued growth, Security First has launched its first of a series of blended learning and development programs that offer specialized training and licensing. 15 employees recently transitioned into a 90-day claim examination training program from other positions. Claim examiners oversee the claim process and ensure that customers are receiving timely and professional service. Security First is actively recruiting and training to bring this service in house. At the culmination of the program and upon successful completion of the state exam and pre-licensing requirements, each employee will have earned the Florida 6-20 All Lines Adjuster License. The average salary of a claim adjuster is $65,000 and all licensing fees are paid for by the company.
“We celebrate professional growth, new career paths, and people who choose to become part of our family and we want to do all we can to retain the incredible talent we’ve been able to build for nearly 14 years in business,” Burt DeVriese continued.
Security First created a new Learning and Development business area last year that is led by Belkys Dooley, Learning and Development Manager, who joined the company in May. Security First has several new training programs planned and the next claim examination program will start in early March. Additionally, the company is hiring instructional designers and other Learning and Development professionals to help build and administer training programs. Security First offers comprehensive benefits, including vision, dental, health, and competitive salary and tuition reimbursement. Committed to continued growth in its hometown, the company will be moving into new corporate headquarters at Ormond Crossings mid-year. Security First has pledged to create 285 new jobs by the end of 2023.
Today, the company launched its #LocalLove campaign in Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to increase awareness of career opportunities, celebrate employee success, and to make it easy to apply online.
