Eight months after breaking ground on the future headquarters for Security First Insurance, company employees and community leaders gathered to celebrate the “roof topping” of the four-story office building.
Security First Insurance Company’s 327 employees and their families were given their first tour of the company’s new, 136,000 square foot headquarters yesterday evening during a private “topping out” ceremony.
Former state senator Locke Burt was chosen as a member of the transition advisory committee. He is currently chairman and president of Security First, an insurance company. The committee list is comprised of some of Florida’s most recognized experts who will help the Governor-elect Ron DeSantis shape the future of Florida’s economy for years to come.
A 65-foot concrete wall, 23 feet wide and weighing in at 165,000 pounds, was raised Aug. 8 by an equally impressive crane, beginning construction of the new headquarters for Security First Insurance Co. headquarters, marking a new era for the company.
Aug. 10, 2018, Ormond Beach, Fla. –Security First Insurance Company’s new, 133,000 square foot headquarters has begun to take shape. The first wall has been erected heralding the start of a new era for the company and its growing family of over 350 employees.
The rejection of his offer to buy a former bank building in DeBary nearly a decade ago still puzzles Locke Burt. “We offered to pay the $1.1 million asking price in cash and they (the property’s owners) never called back,” the chairman and president of Security First Insurance recalled.
