Melissa has been with Security First since 2009. Prior to serving as President, she served as General Counsel and as Chief Administrative Officer. Before joining Security First Melissa worked in Washington D.C. in a variety of legal and regulatory roles for a large national law firm, a United States Congressman, and as a Presidential Appointee in the Department of Transportation. She currently oversees operations of the company and leads the development of strategy and corporate policy. Her background in regulatory and legal matters help guide decision making and ensure a high level of cooperation with state regulators. Additionally, she has been actively involved in working with State lawmakers on matters that impact the homeowner’s insurance industry in Florida. Melissa holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown Law Center and is a licensed attorney in Florida, California, and Washington D.C. Melissa currently serves on the boards of Easterseals of Northeast Central Florida and the Ormond Memorial Art Musuem. She is a past-president of the Junior League of Daytona Beach.
