Security First Insurance Company's first claim examiner training program concluded on Thursday, February 28th, 2019. All 15 employees that were selected for the claim examiner training program have graduated with their 6-20 claims licenses and are officially starting their careers as claims examiners.
Security First values retaining local talent and offers employees the tools they need to excel in their chosen career path. They’ve created a 90-day claim examiner training program to start the process of bringing their claims department in-house. This helps to ensure the quality of the customer service provided and the level of care offered to their policyholders.
The 90-day claim examiner training is open to employees who currently work at Security First Insurance, and does not require previous claim experience. Employees interested in the program apply for the claims position through the Human Resources department, they are interviewed and then those selected join the next training class. On average, claim examiners earn a salary of $65K a year and their licensing fees are paid for by the company. The 90-day course provides all of the tools trainees need to be successful in their new career path, including in-depth courses, on-site seminars, and all the materials needed to pass the 6-20 licensing exam. At the end of the 90-day course, and after passing the 6-20 exam, trainees become claim examiners and members of the claims department.
This program was just the first of many claim training programs that will be offered throughout the year, with the next class starting in April 2019. Offering employees the tools and resources to excel in this career path is not just a benefit to the employee but allows Security First to invest in the dedicated and talented employees that work there.
