Security First Insurance Company to Demonstrate Mobile Recovery Unit, Training and Testing in Preparation of Hurricane Season

Ormond Beach, Fla. (April 30, 2010) – As Floridians across the state brace themselves for another hurricane season, Security First Insurance Company is bringing their mobile disaster recovery unit to the home office to test and train emergency response employees.

The mobile recovery unit is an air-conditioned office space equipped with a wireless network of computer stations and servers allowing Security First to have secured satellite Internet access to their claims systems and data centers. The unit, with an independent power supply, puts their claims operations on- site, in a location nearby to customers who have had their homes damaged by a catastrophe.

Security First customers will have the ability to file claims, speak with professional and experienced adjusters and receive additional living expenses should their home become so severely damaged that they need an alternative place to stay. If customers lose power to their home they can still find the location of the mobile recovery unit by downloading Security First Mobile, the company’s free iPhone app, or by accessing their mobile Web site at www.SecurityFirstFlorida.com using any mobile phone with Internet-browsing capabilities.

The State of Florida will notify insurance companies of a date and location where they are required to be present and available to assist policyholders after a catastrophe. It’s up to the insurance company to determine how they will assist their policyholders.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to locate our unit and to get the exceptional service they deserve,” said Locke Burt, president of Security First Insurance Company. “We are here for them and will provide immediate help. This is one of the most important things we can do as their insurance company.”
