Insurance Personal Lines CSR/Underwriter

Security First Insurance Company is looking for energetic, highly motivated insurance professionals for our office in the Daytona Beach area to service a large existing client base and to act as home office underwriters. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential along with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment. The individuals MUST have 1-2 years of experience in personal lines underwriting or customer service; excellent customer service skills; and a 220 or 440 P&C license is required.

Description:
These positions combine the responsibilities of home office underwriters and customer service representatives. Duties include handling a high volume of service calls on existing personal lines business and processing quotes for potential new clients. Duties also include the underwriting of new business applications, endorsements, maintaining a profitable in-force book of business by determining acceptability and proper rating structure and answering inquiries from our outside agency force. This is an excellent opportunity for well rounded and experienced insurance professionals.

Job Requirements:

• Property and Casualty license required: 220 or 440.
• Minimum one (1) year recent P&C service or underwriting experience.
• Must be customer service oriented being able to communicate effectively in a fast paced team environment.
• Prior Property & Casualty Underwriting experience is a plus. 

Claims Examiner

Our entire claim team is essential to the success of Security First Insurance Company. Our claims examiners are integral to maintaining our high level of standard in claims service—from internal processes to working directly with our customers.

We’re looking for a claim examiner who will assist our Sr. Examiners and will operate from our corporate headquarters in Ormond Beach, Florida. The Claims Examiner is responsible for the oversight and reporting of varying claim processes and claim administration companies. Specific functions include:

• Investigate and evaluate claims, applying technical knowledge and analytical skills
• Verify and analyze data used in settling claims to ensure that claims are valid and that settlements are made according to company underwriting guidelines and claim practices
• Examine adjusters' reports and review policy language to determine extent of insurance coverage.  Review and critique coverage letters prior to issuance.
• Maintain the appropriate sense of urgency throughout the claim and utilize a proactive approach to claim resolution
• Confer with Senior Examiners on claims as needed or requested
• Work with SIU personnel to assist on investigations
• Consult with management as requested

Job Requirements

• High school diploma
• Minimum three years property claim adjusting experience
• Computer knowledge and proficiency, Microsoft Office software knowledge preferred
• Excellent working knowledge of residential property coverage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient analytical skills

College degree and/or CPCU designation a plus.
