Attached Aluminum Screened Enclosures and Attached Aluminum Carports

Beginning April 15, 2008, policyholders who are renewing coverage or purchasing new coverage from Security First will be able to choose the amount of hurricane coverage best suited for their attached aluminum screened enclosures and attached aluminum carports. Coverage can be purchased in $5,000 increments from $5,000 to $50,000. You may also elect not to cover these structures for hurricane damage.

You can also add the coverage to your policy after it becomes effective through the endorsement process. Called the “Limited Screened Enclosure and Carport Coverage” endorsement, this new option provides coverage for hurricane damage to the aluminum framing, but not for damage to the screens themselves or the cost to replace the screens. Your policy continues to include coverage for these structures for all the non-hurricane perils outlined in your policy.
